Where should I sell my maple syrup?

Finding a reliable Canadian syrup partner can come with challenges. Voisin’s is a growing Ontario bulk maple syrup buyer. The syrup we buy goes into the products we make and bottle for wholesale, and into the products we co-pack and private label for other companies. That means your syrup can end up on shelves in more than Canadian 200 locations, sometimes under our name and sometimes under someone else’s. Producers tell us they like knowing that, since the syrup that they put a season into goes to more customers who are excited about it.

Why is Voisin’s buying more syrup?

We’re preparing for a facility expansion, and we’re building up our syrup reserves to go with it. Interest in our co-packing and private label services has been strong, and that has driven up demand. We’re interested in meeting that demand with Ontario syrup, and we’re committed to supporting Ontario communities as we grow. For producers looking for a reliability, we want to be your partner.

How strict is the quality testing for Voisin’s Maple Syrup?

We personally test and filter every barrel we receive for excellence in quality and purity. We do this with every producer, whether you’re a long-time supplier or a new one. We think this works in your favour too.

A buyer who checks every barrel is a buyer who knows what they’re paying for, and who has no reason to treat your syrup as interchangeable with anyone else’s. Our private label customers rely on the same standard, so it protects the whole chain.

What kind of maple syrup producer does Voisin’s work with?

There isn’t one profile. Some of the producers we work with run a few hundred taps as a family tradition, and others operate on a larger scale. What they have in common is that they care how their syrup is made and are glad to sell to someone who cares how it’s used.

Because logistics matter, we prefer producers in Ontario, and the closer to Formosa the better. It keeps pickup and delivery simple for both sides.

Do I have to commit to selling to you every year?

No. We don’t guarantee commitments and we won’t ask you for one. We do hope for annual suppliers, and we put effort into building relationships because they’re better for everyone. A producer who knows who is buying their syrup, and a buyer who knows what to expect, can plan around each other from season to season.

What do I need for the first conversation?

Three things:

• Your location

• The quantity you have for sale (ideally in barrels)

• The grade of your syrup
